"Além da Visão" is a documentary that tells the story of Derek Rabelo that even blind, was able not only to surf, but to face Pipeline, one of the most dangerous waves in the world, what made him known by important surfing professionals, such as: Carlos Burle, Eddie Rothman and Kelly Slater. His skills also attracted the directors Bruno Lemos and Luiz Werneck, responsible for the creation of the film.

 

 

The documentary includes interviews with visually impaired, experts and people who are part of Derek’s life, talking about how blind people perceive the world and the problems they face daily. Brazilian artists like Evandro Mesquita and Gabriel Pensador also report the impressions they had of the young surfer.

 

 

Além da Visão is based on the Bible verse: "For we walk by faith, not by sight." 2 Co 5.7
